Three Day Basic Oil Heat Class

This class includes all the primary fundamentals of oil heat training for technicians in a three-day training program. Technicians who have experience servicing HVAC equipment, but have limited background working on oil equipment, are ideal candidates for this class. This training also serves as a great resource for oil heat technicians who completed the NORA Bronze Two Week Basic Oil Heat Program in the past, but could use a refresher training.

Three Day Basic Oil Heat will cover: • Introduction to Oil Burners • Oil Tanks, Piping, Fuel Units, and Oil Valves • Nozzles and Combustion Chambers • Draft and Venting • Combustion • Ignition Systems • Motors • Primary Controls and Limited Controls • Hands-On Troubleshooting in Lab

Our Instructor

Mike Elmer has been in the HVAC and plumbing industry since 2002 and has worked for leading contractors in the South Central PA region. His background includes service HVAC, plumbing, and electric. Mike currently works in the field as a lead troubleshooting service technician.

Doug Zerbe has been in the HVAC industry since 2003.  On the contractor side of the industry, he has worked as an installer and service technician before he moved into installation and service management.  Doug also had the opportunity to work in technical support for an HVAC distributor and in sales for an HVAC manufacturer.
