Technical Conversations with Customers

In this class, technicians and employees will learn a basic understanding of technical components such as TXV’s, compressors, coils, heat exchangers, etc. so they can take this information and be able to demonstrate and explain to homeowners.

  • • Explain how systems work in layman terms
  • • How to increase customer confience in your company
  • • Explain work being performed to show value
  • • How to handle customer objections

Our Instructors: Eric Kinsey has been in the HVAC and Plumbing industry since 1982. Eric has worked for leading contractors in the Central PA region. His background includes plumbing install & service and HVAC service. Eric is a master plumber in the state of Pennsylvania. He has a passion for carbon monoxide and educating people on the importance of understanding CO. He also has a strong knowledge of water treatment install and service. Eric brings previous Plumbing and HVAC instructor experience from teaching at Haller Enterprises as an instructor and Service Manager.

Don Mumma has worked in the HVAC Industry since 1998. He has served more than 20 years in the areas of HVAC and plumbing service and installation. He joined the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association December of 2022 as the Director of Education and Workforce Development. His current role includes design, planning, and implementation of all PPATEC training programs. He is also responsible for building relationships with educational institutions and the military community to educate candidates on the benefits of a career in the energy and HVAC industry. Don is originally from Lancaster County Pennsylvania. He currently lives in Lititz with his wife and son. Don earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education at Mansfield University.
