Beckett Residential Oil to Gas Burner Conversion

Start off in the classroom and review the ”Guide to Power Gas Burners”:

  • • Review the recommendations and safety concerns when converting
  • • Review proper venting requirements
  • • Review Combustion air requirements
  • • Review gas supply requirements and gas piping
  • • Review the CG4 Gas Burner Manual
  • • Overview of the burner components
  • • Overview of the burner installation
  • • Overview of the burner operation
  • • Overview of the burner set-up and adjustment

Head down to the lab:

  • • Assemble the CG4 gas burner chassis and air tube combinations
  • • Install a CG4 gas burner on the W-M, Burnham, and Buderus boilers
  • • Install a CG4 gas burner on the quartz chamber
  • • Use combustion analyzers to set up and commission the burners

Our Instructor:

Curt Martin went to Penn State Univ and received a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology.  After college, he worked as a Design Engineer for a few years, then transitioned into a Sales Engineering position. Over the past 25 years, he has worked on the manufacturing side as well as the wholesale side of the industry.  Since 2015, he has been a Sales Engineer for RW Beckett calling on the wholesalers, oil dealers, and HVAC contractors in regard to anything Beckett.  One of his passions and areas of focus is oil burner training to the technicians.
