Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Refresher

This half day seminar is designed for the technician who has limited experience working with air conditioning and heat pump systems with a supplemental oil furnace. A technician attending this course will review basic refrigeration cycle principles on the theory of removing heat from a conditioned space. Additional principles in latent and specific heat, superheat, sub cooling, pressure/temperature relationships, and heat concentration will also be covered. The seminar will conclude with reinforcement on system components and operation as well as best practices for troubleshooting AC and heat pump systems.

- High & Low Voltage Wiring and Schematic Diagrams
- Troubleshooting AC & Heat Pump Systems

Our Instructor Ed (Eddie) Howell brings over 40 years of industry experience to the PPA technical training program. Ed began his career working for PA based HVAC company for nearly two decades. He has spent the last 25 years at APR Supply which included managing their training efforts for 30+ locations. Ed’s training credentials include Nortek TSA, NATE Certified in four disciplines (A/C, HP, Gas Furnace, and Oil & Gas Hydronics), RSES Member, and local OESP Chapter member.
